New name and acronym for NVLD: Development Visual Spatial Disorder or DVSD and Chronic Pain, Hypermobility and Neurodivergence
So today's episode will be about chronic pain, hypermobility, and neurodivergence. Did you know that there is a link between neurodivergence and being hyperbolic? So, I'm going to combine this with the new name for NVLD, which is Development Visual Spatial Disorder, or DVSD is the acronym. So, have you ever heard of why NVLD isn't in the DSM? Some Misconceptions About My Chronic Migraine Condition and NLD
Nonverbal Learning Disability is a learning challenge that makes it more difficult for individuals to process nonverbal information. This includes understanding things like body language, facial expressions, tone of voice, social cues, hand signals, and other behaviors that make up the bulk of social interaction. NLD or NVLD also has physical challenges such as impaired fine motor skills and lower visual-spatial awareness. People with NLD can also process information more slowly which makes it difficult to do things like mental math, retain information, and think abstractly.
Neurodivergence and Being Bullied
Have you ever been bullied physically or online because of being neurodivergent as a nerd or OCD er. Or have you been name called, nicknamed, or been the receiver of a slur? Or worse, are you your own bully because you think you are a burden to others?
NLD and Misplacing Things
So have you ever thought you lost something that was very was really valuable, precious, or meaningful to you. If so, I hope you were able to find it when you least expected it. When you are trying to find it, do you tend to tear the room apart looking for it and then get frustrated when you don't find it? And even more so when you realize the mess you made and and have to put everything back where it belonged. I can think of many times when this happened to myself.
You Are More Than Your Labels
I want to talk today about being more than the labels we were given. Whether that's short, tall, thin, big, smart, stupid, white, black or brown, LGBTQ. Sorry if I forgot one of those letters in there. Neurotypical or neurodiverse.
The Tylenol-Autism Connection: A Critical Look at the Claims
In my opinion, the claims that Tylenol causes ADHD and ASD are unfounded, as I believe these conditions are rooted in a combination of genetic and environmental factors, with the increase in diagnoses primarily reflecting improved detection rather than a new cause.
